Brandon Borgmann joined Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP in September of 2008, focusing his practice on estate and business succession planning, probate, special needs law, and tax. Representing individuals, business owners, and families, Brandon addresses estate planning, tax planning, and business succession planning. Additionally, he represents executors and trustees with respect to the administration of estates and trusts, probate litigation, and taxation.
Having received his undergraduate (B.S.) in Communications from Ohio University in 2004, Brandon continued his academic journey and earned his law degree (J.D.), summa cum laude, from Capital University Law School in 2007.
Brandon has been recognized in the “Best Lawyers in America” list by Best Lawyers® (2020-2023) for Trusts and Estates. He has also been listed as one of Ohio Super Lawyers magazine’s “Rising Stars” in 2022.
Brandon is a former Chair of the Elder and Special Needs Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association and the former Probate Committee Chair of the Columbus Bar Association. Further, he has contributed as an adjunct professor at Capital University Law School, teaching estate tax, gift tax, and the income taxation of trusts and estates. Brandon’s involvement extends to being a past President of the Capital University Law School Alumni Board.
Frequently addressing audiences locally and nationally, Brandon often speaks on estate planning, probate, and special needs planning.
