Leon Friedberg concentrates on bankruptcy and insolvency law; trial disputes, mediations and arbitrations; commercial law; landlord/tenant and real estate law, and appellate practice. He acts as counsel to closely held businesses. Leon joined CPM in August 1999 and is licensed in practice in the state courts of Ohio and Florida, a number of federal courts, and the United States Supreme Court.
Leon is formerly a partner in a large, regional law firm and a solo practitioner. He has represented debtors, creditors’ committees, and individual creditors in Chapter 11 cases, as well as parties in Chapters 7, 12, and 13 cases. Leon has litigated jury and bench trials at all state court and federal levels as well represented parties in Ohio courts of appeal and the Ohio Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Leon has been a frequent lecturer and author on a variety of topics including bankruptcy procedures, real estate liens, and Ohio’s notary public laws, as well as on topics relating to environmental law, commercial leases, and landlord/tenant laws.

Leon received his undergraduate degree from DePauw University and his Masters degree from Miami University. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Capital University.
Leon enjoys tennis and orchestral and chamber music, and has performed as a cellist in Central Ohio, including as a member of the Capital University Orchestra.
