James Moats practices banking law and real estate Law at Carlile Patchen & Murphy. His practice focus is in commercial banking, commercial law and transactions, workout and transaction restructures, creditor rights and real estate.
Jim joined CPM in June 1988. He is a former Special Agent with the FBI, and he has spoken and written on various commercial and not-for-profit law topics.

Jim received his undergraduate degree from Denison University in 1966 and his law degree from The Ohio State University in 1969.
Jim enjoys hunting for pheasant, duck and geese (with his dog), hiking, gardening and other outdoor activities.
